To support the launch of The Plug, I developed a vox pop content series that captured honest, on-the-ground perspectives from Black and brown creatives across the UK. The idea was rooted in strategy: if we’re creating an event for underrepresented communities, we needed to start by listening.
The series explored the realities of working in the creative industry today topics like burnout, exclusion, gatekeeping, and how the UK scene often feels performative or closed off. It helped ground the project in lived experiences and ensured the wider campaign wasn’t just talking at the community, but reflecting it.
The content set the tone for the platform’s voice, built early momentum, and gave us real insights to shape the event. The first round of posts achieved over 50k organic impressions across social from a brand-new account.
